Brazilian murals for Women's Soccer World Cup
Visual artist Andressa de Assis has created street art for the FIFA Women’s Soccer World Cup. She’s helped by her sister Laura and the local residents of Vila Isabel. It’s a tradition to paint a street in the neighborhood for the Men’s World Cup. Now, for the first time, it is being painted for the Women’s World Cup.
“Our goal here, what I’m painting together with the residents today, is to inspire people with the spirit of unity that the World Cup has that Brazilians have, for us to paint the street and have fun with it.”
The 2023 Women’s World Cup will take place in Australia and New Zealand starting on July 20th.
