Around half of the world's children suffer from blurry vision due to elongated eyeballs. Normally, a child's eyeballs grow to the right length by age 6, allowing for clear vision. However, due to factors such as insufficient exposure to natural light, many children's eyeballs continue to lengthen, causing blurry vision. Contrary to previous beliefs, excessive screen time isn't the primary cause. Lack of a hormone that signals the eyeballs to stop growing appears to be the main issue. Fortunately, the solution involves ensuring children get enough natural light exposure.

Vocabulary:
• Blurred (adjective): Not clear or distinct; hazy.
• Retina (noun): The layer of cells at the back of the eyeball that receives light and converts it into neural signals for the brain.
• Epidemic (noun): A widespread occurrence of a particular undesirable phenomenon, such as a disease.
• Hormone (noun): A regulatory substance produced in an organism and transported in tissue fluids such as blood or sap to stimulate specific cells or tissues into action.
• Culprit (noun): A person or thing responsible for causing a problem or harm.
• Sweet spot (noun): An optimum point or combination of factors.
