Working in agriculture is not easy, especially for small farmers. In northern Thailand, many farmers face daily difficulties. They often have high production costs, which means farming is expensive. Another big problem is market uncertainty. Farmers do not always know how much they will earn for their crops.

In Chiang Mai, a group of farmers decided to work together to face these challenges. They created a cooperative called Mita Organic. This co-op promotes sustainable and organic farming. Instead of working alone, farmers act as one group. This helps them negotiate better prices for their products.

Today, Mita Organic sells its organic food in major supermarkets across Thailand. The cooperative also supports other local farmers. It invites them to learn about organic farming methods. If farmers decide to change their practices and grow organic food, they can join the co-op.

One farmer explains that working alone makes farmers powerless. Together, they are stronger. Mita Organic shows that cooperation can help farmers improve their working conditions, protect the environment, and earn a better living. The story reminds consumers to think about where their food comes from and the people behind it.
