The Australian government has banned the use of TikTok on all government-issued devices due to security concerns.

Other countries, including the US, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK, have also implemented similar bans. The fear is that TikTok, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, could potentially give information about its users to the Chinese government.

TikTok has denied these allegations, calling the decision "extremely disappointing."

Each state government in Australia can decide whether or not to follow the federal government's lead, and federal politicians and government employees are still allowed to use the app on personal devices.

However, some officials have already deleted their accounts due to the controversy.
