Grammar Rules
Affirmative:
Subject + past simple verb
I saw a movie yesterday.
She ate pizza.
Negative:
Subject + didn’t + base form of the verb
I didn’t go to school.
He didn’t have breakfast.
Question:
Did + subject + base form of the verb?
Did you eat breakfast?
Did she go to the cinema?
Remember: In questions and negative sentences, we always use the base form, NOT the past form.
