We use the simple past to talk about things we did in the past.
With most verbs, the past tense is formed by adding –ed at the end of the verb (Verb + ed).
- I liked the movie!
- I worked late last night.
- I called you yesterday.
But there are a lot of irregular past tense forms in English. Here are the most common irregular verbs, with their past tense forms:
• Be = Was/Were
• Do = Did

• Go = Went
• Come = Came
• Give = Gave
• Get = Got
• Begin = Began
• Know = Knew

• Take = Took
• Tell = Told
• Think = Thought
