Present Simple

• Use : For habits, routines, general truths, and states.
• Form : Subject + verb (base form) + s/es (for he, she, it)

Examples:
• I play tennis every weekend.
• She works in a bank.
• Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius.

Present Continuous

Use : For actions happening now, temporary actions, and future plans.
Form : Subject + am/is/are + verb+ing

Examples:
• They are watching TV now.
• She is studying for her exam.
• We are going to the party tonight.

When to use which ?

Use the present simple for:
• Timetables and schedules
• Instructions and recipes
• Facts that are always true

Use the present continuous for:
• Actions happening at the moment of speaking
• Temporary situations
• Changing situations
