What Are Possessive Adjectives?
Possessive adjectives are words that show who owns something. They always come before a noun and help us understand who something belongs to.
Unlike regular adjectives, possessive adjectives never change based on the number of things—they stay the same whether the noun is singular or plural.
Each subject pronoun has a possessive adjective that shows ownership:
I - my - My book is on the table.
You - your - Your car is very fast.
He - his - His jacket is black.
She - her - Her phone is in her bag.
It - its - The dog is licking its paws.
We - our - Our house is big.
They - their - Their parents are kind.
Remember:
Possessive adjectives always come before a noun.
They never change, even if the noun is singular or plural.
They do NOT use an apostrophe! (e.g., ''It's'' = it is, while ''its'' = belonging to it).
