Grammar rules:
We use ''no'' and ''none'' to say that something does not exist.
There was no bus. (= not any bus)
There are none left. (= no tickets left)
We use ''nothing,'' ''nobody,'' and ''nowhere'' to say that nothing happened, no person is involved, or there is no place.
Nothing happened.
Nobody came to the party.
They went nowhere.
Do not use a negative verb with these words:
Wrong: ''I didn’t say nothing.''
Right: ''I said nothing.''
Vocabulary:
• no (determiner): used before a noun to mean not any
• none (pronoun): not any (used alone)
• any (determiner): used in questions or negative sentences to mean one or more
• nothing (pronoun): not anything
• nobody (pronoun): no person
• nowhere (adverb): not in any place
• empty (adjective): with nothing inside
• alone (adverb/adjective): by oneself
• anybody (pronoun): any person
• anywhere (adverb): any place
