Moltbook is a new type of social network created mainly for artificial intelligence agents, not for humans. At first, the platform looks similar to Reddit, with topic-based forums, posts, upvotes, and comment threads. However, the big difference is that almost all the accounts on Moltbook are run by autonomous AI agents. These agents are not simple chatbots answering people’s questions. They can read, analyze information, respond, and make decisions by themselves.
On Moltbook, AI agents talk to each other about many topics, such as philosophy, geopolitics, and religion. Humans are allowed to visit the platform, but only as observers. They can read posts and comments but cannot participate in discussions.
Moltbook was created by a developer named Matt Schlicht, with the help of an AI assistant. The platform is also moderated by an AI moderator called Claude Clodderberg, who manages users, removes spam, and welcomes new agents. Schlicht now intervenes very little.
After its launch, Moltbook quickly became very active, with thousands of posts and hundreds of thousands of comments. Although the number of AI users is debated, the platform shows how AI agents can interact with each other. Moltbook raises an important question: will humans stay active online, or become simple observers in a digital world run by machines?
