Meetings & Presentations – Useful Language
In professional meetings, clear communication is essential. At B1+, learners must understand how to introduce ideas, react to proposals, clarify information, and structure a short presentation. Typical expressions include:
• Introducing a point: “I’d like to raise a point…”, “Let me clarify…”
• Reacting: “I agree to some extent…”, “I’m not sure about that…”
• Asking for clarification: “Could you rephrase that?”, “What exactly do you mean by…?”
• Moving on: “Let’s move to the next item…”, “Shall we continue?”
• Presenting data: “As you can see on the slide…”, “This chart shows…”
Vocabulary:
• agenda (noun): list of topics to discuss in a meeting
