Elon Musk has given a surprise interview to the BBC, nearly six months after buying Twitter, in which he discusses the social media giant’s state and issues such as disinformation on the platform, layoffs and regrets.
Musk, who said he was sleeping on a couch at Twitter HQ and his dog was “really in charge,” has emphasised the importance of free speech on the social network, while making massive job cuts, laying off 1,500 of its 7,000 employees. He also acknowledged the pain the cuts caused, but said it was necessary to prevent the company going bankrupt.
