The report, which surveyed students and principals across 24 countries, found that one in six Australian students are mocked at school, one in ten are victims of nasty rumors, and 6% have experienced physical bullying. These bullying experiences negatively impact students' academic performance. Experts suggest several strategies to address bullying: victims should tell the bullies to stop, seek help from a teacher, or have a conversation to resolve the issue.

Vocabulary:

• To bully (verb): To hurt or scare someone repetitively, harassing.

• To belong (verb): To feel like you are a part of a group.

• Upset (adj): Feeling sad or worried.

• To spread (verb): To move something so it affects more places or people.
