The Manhattan Project was a research and development undertaking during World War II that resulted in the creation of the first nuclear weapons. It was led by the US with the support of the UK and Canada.
The Manhattan Project took place in a different era even though it was not so long ago. The United States was a very different place then with a totally different mindset.
The cities around the project had beautiful layouts and plentiful amenities; They were perfect for raising a family.
Little did residents know of the goings-on at the nearby facility though rumours were rife. Naturally, they were dumbfounded when they learnt of the bombings on August 6, 1945.
