Seventeen years (in Earth time) since they last crossed lightsabers in the fiery depths of Mustafar, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader are set to face off on screen once again, in the new Disney+ series debuting May 25. And with Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reprising their roles as the dynamic — and doomed — duo, anticipation is as high as the Dark Lord's famed midi-chlorian count.
It is a reunion that once seemed impossible, and to fully grasp the enormity of the moment, one has to go back to the very beginning.
