Larry, the 14-year-old tabby, has served four Prime Ministers so far, including Liz Truss.
Adopted from the Battersea Dogs and Cats home, he moved into one of the most famous addresses in the world, ten years ago.
Over the years, he has been bestowed with the title of Chief Mouser to Downing Street. His duties include greeting guests, inspecting security devices and testing antique furniture for the quality of napping. His primary role of controlling rat infestations has been carried out with mixed results.
Larry is the most recent member in a long line of feline staff employed by the British Government for centuries, to keep pests at bay.
