Anna is going on a short trip to visit her friend in another city. She arrives at the train station early in the morning. The station is busy with people walking, talking, and looking at the departure board. Anna checks the board to find her train. “Train 256 to Paris, Platform 3,” it says.
First, Anna goes to the ticket counter to buy her ticket. The clerk smiles and asks, “One-way or return?” Anna replies, “Return, please.” The clerk prints her ticket and says, “Your train leaves in 20 minutes.”
Anna looks at her ticket. It shows her seat number: 12A, coach number: 3, and the departure time: 10:30 a.m. She walks to Platform 3 and waits near the train car door. She hears a voice on the speaker: “Attention! Train 256 to Paris is now boarding.”
Anna gets on the train and finds her seat by the window. She puts her bag on the luggage rack above her seat. The train starts to move, and Anna watches the countryside go by. She hears the conductor check tickets, saying, “Tickets, please!” Anna shows her ticket and smiles.
On the way, the train stops at a few stations, and Anna hears announcements like, “Next stop: Lyon.” After two hours, the train arrives in Paris. Anna gets off, grabs her bag, and smiles. “What a lovely trip!” she says.
