Talking About Preferences
I prefer tea to coffee.

Important Notes:
Like/love/dislike/hate can be followed by a noun, a verb + ing (drinking coffee, playing sports) or an infinitive (to + verb)
Example: ''I like/hate reading books,'' ''I like/hate to read books.''
Prefer is followed by ''to'' or ''rather than'' to compare choices.
Example: ''I prefer tea to coffee.''
''I would rather have tea than coffee.''
