Our current diet harms our health, the planet, and global food security. Poor nutrition now causes more deaths than alcohol, drugs, and tobacco combined. While 2.1 billion people are overweight, 821 million go hungry, and food production drives species extinction and climate change. To address this, EAT gathered 37 top scientists to create the EAT-Lancet Commission, a blueprint for a healthy, sustainable diet. The key is prioritizing plant-based foods while limiting meat, dairy, and processed foods. Reducing food waste is also essential. Following this plan could prevent 11 million deaths annually and protect the environment. We now have a solution—it's up to us to act. Food can fix our biggest global challenges.
