A public family conflict has recently involved David Beckham and his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham. Brooklyn shared a long and very critical statement online in which he accused his famous parents of being fake and controlling. His message quickly caused strong reactions on social media and attracted a lot of attention from the press.
When journalists questioned David Beckham about his son’s statement, he chose not to respond directly. Instead, he explained that children are allowed to make mistakes, especially on social media, and that parents try to educate their children as best as they can. He avoided answering the specific accusations made by Brooklyn.
Brooklyn claims that his parents tried to control important moments in his life. He says they wanted him to give up the rights to his name before his wedding. He also accuses his mother, Victoria Beckham, of behaving inappropriately during the wedding and refusing to finish his wife’s wedding dress. According to Brooklyn, he and his wife were also excluded from his father’s 50th birthday celebrations.
Because of these events, Brooklyn says he no longer wants to reconcile with his parents. Media commentators compare this situation to the public family split between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, highlighting how serious and public this conflict has become.
